Ken Bowden got up early this morning and managed to capture some great photos of Comet Leonard and nearby deep sky objects. His notes and photos below.

I was up early this morning at the helipad with my telescope to capture comet Leonard. We are expecting cloudy sky’s for the rest of the week so this morning may be the last chance to capture the comet unless you want to go to Southern Hemisphere or wait about 35,000 years for the next time it passes this way. I also captured a few other sights in the area. M3 is a star cluster and NGC 5033 is a galaxy similar to our milky way galaxy more than 40 million light years distant. If the weather holds off on Monday morning I may be out there again.
